STUDIO POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Tuition

Tuition is due on or before the first day of the month to reserve the weekly lesson time for the month. Tuition is payable monthly and is based on the 4 weeks in a month. When a 5th week occurs (4 times per year), it is taught at no extra charge at the time given, but will be owed by the student in the recital months--half in June and half in December (see RECITALS). Preferred method of payment is by PayPal automatic monthly subscription.

Absences

Your monthly payment reserves that lesson time for the student therefore, there is no reduction in tuition for missed lessons and there are no makeups for cancelled lessons. Your teacher also uses time and funds outside of the lessons to prepare music, games, and rewards to ensure a prime learning experience. If a student will be absent, they have the option to record a video of their pieces ahead of time and receive an assignment/guidance from the teacher in return to do at their convenience. During seasonal vacations, continued payment will ensure the reservation of the lesson time. Otherwise, it will be considered a withdrawal and may not be available at a later date.

Illness

If the student has had a fever within 24 hours or congestion/cough, the instructor must be notified and lessons cancelled and/or replaced with a LIVE online lesson or request a pre-recorded video assignment from the teacher.

Withdrawal

30 days written notice is required to withdraw from lessons. If a withdrawal occurs in June or December, the full month's tuition applies. If withdrawal occurs mid-year, any extra lessons taught in the month will be owed.

Lesson Time

Each lesson is 30 minutes, once per week. It’s important to have the required materials/books for every lesson and to be ready at the scheduled time. If the student is not present for the lesson 15 minutes after the scheduled lesson time, it is considered a missed lesson and the lesson will be skipped.
If you are dropping off and picking up the student for lessons, please arrive no earlier or later than 5 minutes before/after the scheduled lesson time to ensure no disruption of other lessons. If staying for the duration with siblings, please be as quiet as possible as to not disrupt the momentum of the lesson. Families are also welcome to wait in the car or play at the park during lessons.

Recitals
There are two performances a year in which all students participate. These recitals occur mid-June and mid-December. Rehearsals conducted that week replace the lesson and the recital counts as an additional lesson, after which will usually follow a 2 week break. Since there’s no charge when a 5th week occurs in the month (which happens 4 times in a year), full tuition will apply for the recital months. A recital fee of $15 per student is owed regardless ofability to participate due to event costs.

Inclement Weather

If county schools are closed due to inclement weather, lessons are cancelled and Zoom lessons are offered during the lesson time.

Holidays

There are no lessons in observance of the following holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Independence Day. In place of these lessons, a make-up time will be offered by the teacher or the student can opt for a pre-recorded video tutorial.
